How has your week been?  Seen anything cool?

I am recovering from the most hectic, most stressful week I’ve had in a long time.  I fully intended on making this weekend a gallery-viewing one, and instead am buried under a pile of blankets with the company of the warming glowing glow of my laptop, while my sinuses threaten to self-implode if I don’t keep drinking tea non-stop.  So, I’m doing my visiting over the internet.

The very talented Jaime Anderson has got her personal site online (you may remember her from the fantastic illustration that graced the cover of our July/August issue), and it’s worth a look or two or seven.  Her work has a quiet humor and a soft beauty that isn’t seen too much these days. She whispers more than shouts, with a good poke in the ribs for good measure. There’s so much edgy, loud, graphic illustration on the scene, and I love it as much as the next girl, but it’s nice to have a voice like Jaime’s out there.  I mean, my iPod is full of loud, fast music with a thumping beat, but I have to throw a little bluegrass or Billie Holiday in the mix, you know?  Go visit www.jaimeandersonillustration.com and see for yourself.
